First of all, if you’re starting with one of those “pre-made” websites that your marketing company has given you as a means of promoting your opportunity, you can pretty much forget about getting that website ranked in the search engines for any relevant search terms. Google typically won’t do it just for the fact that too many of those sites exist with “duplicate content”.
So, you can either choose to promote your “cookie-cutter” website through means other than the natural search engine rankings or you can select another web presence to promote your opportunity or use it to drive traffic to your main opportunity website (i.e. the one that your company gives you).
There are several websites that rank well with the search engines that can be used to promote your opportunity. A few examples include hubpages.com, squidoo.com, xanga.com, youtube.com, and blogger.com. This list is in no way exclusive, but does incorporate several sites that allow you as an individual to create a free account and post whatever content you want to post including information about your “awesome business opportunity”. The listing process itself is really quite simple to do.

Industry Update
Stanford study on online credibility.
Key Findings
The online consumers in the Stanford PTL study and our expert panel of evaluators diverged greatly in their credibility assessment criteria. Overall, our experts were far less concerned about visual appeal as a marker of credibility than the Stanford PTL consumers, and they were more concerned about the quality of a site’s information. Among other conclusions, this study found that health experts assigned more credibility to health sites that provided information from reputable sources and cited the names and credentials of authors for each article published. Finance experts assigned more credibility to finance sites that provided investors with a great deal of unbiased educational information and research, rather than nudging consumers toward their own products or services.
